John Yuen

Advisor

Prof. Yuen is a Research Fellow of the National Research Institute of Chinese Medicine, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and also an Adjunct Professor at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. Before joining the NRICM, he had worked at the Institute of History and Philology of Academia Sinica (Taiwan) for over 14 years. The IHP is one of the most accomplished research institutions in the international Chinese studies community. His research interests lie in the areas of Ancient Chinese Etymology, Unearthed Literature, Chinese Bibliology, Ancient Chinese Philology, Chinese Font from the computer, and Digital Archive. He, as a co-author of "New Collection of Yin and Zhou Bronze Inscriptions and Figures", won the Nomination Award of the "Fourth Guo Moruo Chinese History Award" which was awarded by the Ministry of Education (2012). He was an Associate editor of the Issue of "Gu Jin Lun Heng" (Issue 7, Issue 8) and a Deputy Chief Editor of "Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Taiwan" (Volume 10, Issue 3, Issue 4). He is also a member of the editorial board of "The Chinese Characters". Prof. Yuen participated in holding academic conferences several times and served as the Chairperson of the "International Chinese Character Research and Internet Technology Workshop" of the Institute of History and Philology of Academia Sinica in Taiwan (2010), member of the Organizing Committee of the "Symposium on Business Ethics & Culture 2018", and the Director of "The 4th International Conference on Medical Literature on Bamboo Slips and Silk" (2019) in Hong Kong.
